Testing Rules based engine for new Adsmart project

BSkyB initiated a project to develop a new & complex rules based engine which would provide capability to enhance the targeting of adverts (the engine is integrated with 40+ other systems). Engaged to lead the test phase of this critical project. Contributed to development of test strategy; created test plans for system testing; oversaw creation of test cases & scripts; managed test execution; and led defect management. Played a key role in the delivery of a robust system which was signed off for integration testing with zero defects.
T-Mobile UK (Now Everything Everywhere): Prepay Billing System
Software testing for a new prepay billing system.
T-Mobile initiated a strategy to launch a new prepay billing system in order to increase potential revenues. Engaged to develop & execute a test strategy for the Voice, SMS & Data elements of this business critical system. Established business requirements; formulated test strategy; conducted unit, system, integration, live & DR testing; produced test reports; and managed key stakeholders. Implementation of this robust test strategy led to the successful deployment of ‘Nexus’ - a new prepay billing system, which generates multi-million revenues for T-Mobile.
O2, Telefónica
Testing of Web Portal Re-write:
O2 embarked upon a strategy to re-write their web portal website, but due to high turnover in Test Team there were major slippages in project plans. Engaged to rescue project & ensure completion of test plans within agreed timescales. Liaised with Project Manager & business users; performed risk assessment; rewrote test strategy & plans; and introduced web based test tools (Spider Management & QTP). These initiatives resulted in delivery of the test strategy & plans in line with project milestones & successful completion of this business critical web re-write.
Barclays PLC Barclaycard
Test Lead for new Telephony Programme
Barclaycard are to upgrade their infrastructure for an outbound telephony programme to improve their customer contract call centre operations. Engaged to assist with UAT test lead/defect management for this complex programme. Mapped business requirements to test cases; formulated test plans; conducted UAT coordination and engagement with SME & business users, produced test reports; and managed key stakeholders. A successful UAT phase led to a successful implementation and quality software meeting business expectations.

Infrastructure Upgrade

Red Bee Media – formerly BBC Broadcast Ltd and now operating as EBMS – was created as a commercial division of the BBC in 2002 and now operates as a media management company employing 2,500 staff. Responsible for assisting test management and execution of relevant testing, providing expertise and support to the Test Manager on a major infrastructure refresh to enhance the performance of the company’s main Teleview metadata application and relevant hardware interfacing with systems operated by leading 3rd party broadcasters including Sky, BT You view and UPC..
Smart DCC (Smart Meter Programme)
Quality Assurance and Defect Management
DCC (Smart Data Communications Company) deliver shared infrastructure for suppliers to roll-out 53m smart meters (SM) by 2024. Engaged as a Test Assurance \ defect manager, oversaw testing across DCC services & supported customer testing for SMIP (Smart Meter Implementation programme). Succeeded in closing 50 key defects & reducing defect lead times by several weeks for the top six utility suppliers. Also responsible for setting up weekly reporting and KPIs to key suppliers..
